I had the privilege to be a part of a team at Virginia Tech working on FutureHAUS, a revolutionary prototype for the home of the future. The HAUS demonstrates how digital technologies, cutting edge products, and smart building design can unite to make our homes more responsive to out future needs and way of living.

Our team’s role, as designers, has been to collaborate with faculty and students to assist on developing the branding and materials for extensions of the project (such as for the 2018 Solar Decathlon in Dubai) and create the visual interface design for the control tablets and displays. The home of the future will look quite different than what exists today, but we can already see how technology, such as smart objects and tablets, is shifting how we live.
