First Landing State Park
Type Hike Inspired Poster

Celebrating the outdoors through typography.

This project is based off of David Rygiol and James Walker’s collaborative non-profit design project: Type Hike. Type Hike was “born from the belief that all designers are obligated to use their talent and ability to make the world a more beautiful place.”

First Landing State Park is a Virginia Historic Landmark in Virginia Beach, VA. Its 2,888 acre park offers a wide range of activities for visitors like swimming, hiking, biking, boating, and fishing. The name “First Landing” commemorates the 1607 landing of the Virginia Company on Cape Henry. The park name was changed from “Seashore State Park” to reflect the historical significance of Cape Henry.
